ready for some hip hop ???

Dubz and I have finally got the front end of HipHopRappers.com in shape! It is now open to the public and ready for viewing. We started this project about a year ago. First working on the back end, took a break, and then recently have been working on the front end.

It’s not 100% done, that is for sure. Still have some areas to finish up. But the all of the content in the database is viewable. We also have several more ideas we would like to implement, but need to finish the current list first.

We have gone through a couple of different layouts/styles. I think we have one that will work now. Unfortunantly the current layout is not 100% CSS. We are using one HTML table in the layout due to problems dealing with the CSS. I plan to revisit that and get it all CSS, but can’t let that hold up the rest for now.

A lot of thought (by the both of us) and not to mention time has been put into this so far. Getting all the info into a database (thanks to Dubz and mashala) in a structured way, logically designing the pages to pull this info, trying to create as much re-usable code as possible, keeping the code as compact as possible….. and all with sensible/user-friendly display and navigation. Including a ton of SEO (search engine optimization).

Dubz and I have came up with several key techniques that we think will pay off in the SEO department. That has already proved itself in the few days the front end has been ready. It will be very interesting to see what happens of the next few months.

Photoshop Tutorial - Remove Red Eye

Found this great tutorial to remove red eye from photos. I’ve put off posting the Christmas pictures of Bray because of the red-eye. So now I have no excuse.

The tutorial is a little hard to understand at first. But just took a few minutes and I figured out what it was. My guess is because it looks like his is on a Mac :(. Poor sap… j/k. You know those graphics guys dig the Macs. But anywho… it worked very well.
